Camden Dream Center (CDC) is a New Jersey public charitable organization that provides comprehensive community-based services in education, professional development, and the eradication of hunger in Camden. Our passion enables us to provide services to well over 900 families and 2,800 individuals annually in the city of Camden and vicinity.
Call to Action
Literacy + STEM
Deliver a proven CDF Freedom School literacy program that lowers the school dropout rate, improve post-secondary education experience and quality academic enrichment.
Incorporate STEM learning into the literacy program setting to enhance the preparedness level of the students' performance at higher grade level when school resumes.
Leverage Camden Technology Training School to develop professionals in various career pathways that are foundations for post secondary education and careers. The objective is to prepare and re-train individuals for the emerging technologies, disruptive industry sector challenges, and evolving economy.
STEM in the Neighborhood
Use technology to promote pervasive STEM awareness, education, and career pathways that will create well-informed tech savvy inner-city residents, while simultaneously improving the standard of living of inner-city residents.
13.5% of Camden, NJ population is food insecure (NJ Advance Media for NJ.com). The Camden Dream Center currently serve over 3,000 clients annually. Our 2018 goal is to scale the food pantry operations by 50% to contribute to the eradication of hunger in Camden with 40% living in poverty.
STEM talents - south jersey
Advocate and be a change agent within the community of collaborative partners (South Jersey STEM and Innovation Partners - SJSIP) to realize the goal of making south jersey the "go-to" place for STEM talents. The learning vehicle includes hands-on and fun learning experiences via IoT hackathons.
CDC Sustainability enabler
Operationalize a new business model within CDC that promotes the viability, scaling, and sustainability required for the on-going community-based services from the CDC. The Camden Innovation Link is the revenue center envisioned to achieve this new sufficency business model:
